After weeks of trading, U.S. stores are targeting black Friday crowds

Retailers want deals and excitement to bring shoppers to stores and on their website black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

But black Friday has been a day since people get up early and score points for everyone in a trading season, so shoppers may feel they don’t need to go out. Some people like excitement. Others might just check their phones and go back to sleep.

But on Thanksgiving weekend, when stores are trying to lure shoppers, it shows how well they’re doing throughout the season.

Some stores saw long lines and crowds when they opened Thursday. During a visit to New York in grand rapids, mich., Lam Huynh, who works at macy’s, celebrated the first Thanksgiving shopping in a few years. Like many consumers, he spends less time at the mall and more online. During the festival, he plans to do what he has been doing for the past few years: go to the trading site and find the best price.

Shoppers make good things for black Friday

“I can almost buy things on amazon,” he said.

With unemployment at a 17-year low of 4.1% and consumer confidence stronger than last year, analysts expect healthy growth in November and December. The national retail federation trade group expects sales to be at least 3.6 percent in the same period last year, and online spending and other non-store sales are expected to rise 11 percent to 15 percent.

Analysts at bain said amazon is expected to spend half of its holiday sales growth. According to a September study by market research firm NPD Group, amazon is the preferred destination for people to start their holiday shopping.

At the University of Missouri (University of Missouri) biology graduate students Abi Gyawali, 27, usually in the Amazon (Amazon) or Best Buy online purchase (Best Buy) network on Monday, he said he found some of the Best deals. He was on a business trip to JC Penney, Missouri, Thursday, leaving a discount air blast furnace.

A survey released by the NRF showed that about 69 percent of americans or 164 million people plan shopping for five days on Thanksgiving Day to the Internet Monday. Black Friday is expected to remain the busiest day of the year, with about 115 million people going to shopping.

Linda Adair, 64, is a customer at JC Penney. She says she buys online and in stores, but likes to see it herself, because “it’s hard to say that you’re actually on the Internet, shopping.”

Although she usually spends Thanksgiving or the next day shopping, she’s worried about the deal earlier in the year.

“To be honest, I wish they would wait until later,” said adair. “But all stores do this, so if there is one, everyone else has to do the same.”
