A suffocating meeting saw a staggering 23 cars, only an eighth of a second, changing almost instantaneously. Although the two-man champion has cited the unsolved problems of his team’s BMR RCIB insurance machine, the competition is still Jason Plato’s ballast Volkswagen only ranked 22nd on the grid. Jason Plato, after the game:
Sam Tordoff appears to have stolen pole position from Motorbase Performance’s Mat Jackson under his nose, and the latter group will gain P1 for the first time in their qualifying rounds. Tordoff’s BMW 125i M Sport flashed across the production line and took just two minutes to reach the top.
Tordoff and Jackson continued to maintain their second and third spots, while WSR’s Rob Collard moved into fourth place after recovering from a deviation in one of his late fliers. Gordon Shedden, who dominated two practice sessions earlier in the day, had to finish fifth, just 0.005 points behind the second row. It might have been better for the Scot, but when his Honda underachiever Matt Neal came off, one of his fastest attempts was broken, bringing a red flag period. When he returned to the maintenance area, the 2012 champion shook his head, probably because he knew his best chance had been wasted.
Regular Knockhill front-row starter Rob Austin finished sixth, but it still represents his best performance of the season in Exocet AlcoSense Audi A4. Neil remained in seventh place in spite of his rotation.
Andrew Jordan – MG
MG’s Andrew Jordan finished eighth in his final attempt and was also destroyed after he ran into gravel in the pirtek-backed MG6.
Ninth place is not usually celebrated by Colin Turkington, but the defending champion is the best performer for the BMR RCIB insurance team, and he holds his qualification record in the top 10 of the 2015 tournament. Adam Morgan’s WIX Mercedes was relegated by the Turkington to 10th place, just 0.001 seconds behind the pair. Notable absentees from the top 10, such as Snetterton champions jack gove, Aaron Smith and Plato, continued to show incredible gaps throughout the order book.
Plato is another after the trip to gravel suspend his last attempt to leaflets, and double champions must find the minimum in his career in BTCC cells, championship leader will start from 22 to do all this. However, Plato suggested that he might start in the pit lane at croft earlier this season in order to take the pole position in game 2.
He added: “it is dangerous to expect anything, I know the weekend we will be strong, but to be fair, I have to bypass circuit, for a long time since I played! Some things have changed, such as the different edges of the road through the bend, which can make a big difference. The track moves up and down on the grip level, and while it doesn’t drop much, it’s very greasy and error-prone in this case. I knew we had to be there and get that freedom ring, and we stole it at the end, which was really important.
Gordon Sheridan scored a remarkable second training session after the Scot warned ahead of this afternoon’s qualifier for the Dunlop MSA British rv championship.
I think there’s more from cars.
He said. The important thing is that we do this when it’s important, and that’s in qualifying. It doesn’t matter, but I’m sure others will find some time. Honda Yuasa Racing Shedden to become the first and the only one who can break down barriers of 52 seconds of the driver in the practice, now his Civic Type R has achieved some success in the competition of ballast, seemed especially good at the weekend.
In the second practice match, this is another Honda a pair of two, but perhaps is not what you expected, because independent European technology companies operating Jeff Smith won the second place the Honda civic. Smith passed FP2 in most RACES, but after setting the baseline he had to recover from the next lap of deviation.
Although Smith finished second in the race, he was satisfied with his progress. I’m happy. He’s enthusiastic. After the break, I had a bit of a scary moment in the jump, but we wouldn’t get caught up in it. The speed is fast, but I actually think there’s more coming from me, so it bodes well for this afternoon.
Jeff Smith runner-up
Smith is not the only one on the relatively unscathed after return to the track of the driver, because Neil Martin Honda and amazon Martin ford focus team during the game also experienced a period of time.
West Surrey Racing again performed well in third, fifth and seventh places, with championship challengers Sam Tordoff making his more experienced teammates Andy Priaulx and Rob Collard better.
Mat Jackson and Andrew Jordan have confirmed that they will be competing again this afternoon and have finished in the top six in practice.
Adam Morgan, Jason Plato and Tom Ingram completed ten orders, but all three faced different challenges. Although Plato’s insurance group, the BMR RCIB, admitted that no final speed had been set for the weekend, Morgan stopped his Mercedes a-class once again. Speedworks once again joined Ingram in the top 10, but its Achilles’ heel seems to go well beyond that. Qualifying will determine whether Ingram can bring his Toyota Avensis into the race for six grid berths.
